Research Methods & Expected Outcomes

The scientists and researchers at ICAR-IARI aim to achieve the objectives of the ICAR-EFC project, and eventually, to contribute significantly to food security, the bio-economy, and the long-term sustainability of important cereals and oilseed crop (mustard) cultivation under current and future agricultural demands.

In staple crop rice, multiple traits are targeted for abiotic and biotic stress tolerance, nematode resistance, herbicide resistance, yield and culm strength by editing genes associated with the traits.
